4-Day Choquequirao Trek Difficulty

This is one of the Kondor Path Tours programs where hikers want a more challenging trek; also, we have other programs to enjoy an actual excursion on the Andes. 

4-Day Choquequirao

DAY 1: Cachora to Chiquisca 

Chiquisca camp is about 07 hours and covers a distance of 19 kilometers / 11 Miles. The first part is flat and is an easy trek until the viewpoint of Capulilloc. From this lookout, the hike goes downhill until Cocamasana, 2330 m / 7,644 ft, where we finally arrive at Chiquisca, 1950 m / 6,397 ft, which lays at a grove where we can find water.

• Difficultness of the 1st day: medium challenge, 19 km / 11 Miles – walking time: 7 hours

DAY 2: Chiquisca to Santa Rosa & Choquequirao 

From Chiquisca, we will pass the Rosalina hanging Bridge, from where we hike uphill for 5 hours to reach Marampata, and later another 2 hours trek to INC camp 3100 m / 10,170 ft.

• Difficultness of the 2nd day: challenge, 13 km / 8 miles- walking time: 7 hours

DAY 3: Choquequirao to Chiquisca 

Trek exploring day the Archaeological site, and after the visit, we begin to descend to Chiquisca, which will take 6 hours.

• Difficultness of the 3rd day: easy challenge, 13 km / 8 Miles – walking time: 6 hours.

DAY 4: Chiquisca to Cachora 

Today the last 3 hours of the uphill trek until Capulilloc, we continue on a flat path until Cachora. 

• Difficultness of the 4th day: medium challenge, 19 km - walking time 7 hours.
